Cancer Research Center

In June 2003 ground was broken for the construction of the Gen * NY * Sis Center for Excellence in Cancer Genomics located on the UA Foundation East Campus. The center which is committed to research that will discover the genetic origins of, and which may lead to a cure for, cancer. The 108,000-square foot facility was completed in August 2005 and provides space for dozens of laboratories will provide space for dozens of laboratories, as well as an auditorium that will serve as the setting for seminars featuring talks by world-class researchers. One of the major tenants in the Center is the Center for Functional Genomics under the direction of UAlbany Professor of Biology Paulette McCormick.
