Teaching Well with Technology

Overview Workshop: Putting Technology in its Place

Tuesday     April 22nd, 2008 11:30am - 1:00pm, 1:00 - 2:30pm

Campus Center 375

Have you been looking for ways to incorporate technology into your teaching but lack the time? Are you overwhelmed by the amount of new tools out there? ITLAL is dedicating a full week to some of the newest tools of technology and how to use them as part of your class. We start the week with "Putting Technology in Its Place". This workshop overviews the different types of technology that are being used in Higher Education such as wikis, blogs, clickers, podcasts, YouTube, Facebook, and Blackboard and discusses the best ways to take advantage of these tools for promoting discussion, collaboration, student participation, and for overall classroom organization.

The rest of the week will be done in an open house format. See what you can do with a new technology or come in with ideas and turn them into a concrete plan for use in your Summer or Fall 2008 class.
