A New York State Summit
Preventing Student Alcohol Abuse: Improving the Campus-Community Culture
Sponsored by The State University of New
York and the City of Albany Invitation to Mayors, College & University Presidents, & Other Officials
We invite you to participate with other policy makers at a statewide summit on preventing student alcohol abuse, an issue that requires commitment from the highest levels of leadership. We believe we can do much to address the culture of student alcohol abuse through concerted campus-community cooperation. A holistic approach is needed to tackle the pressures on our students as well as to impact the student culture related to drinking.
Our goal is to form a common agenda for the campus community, supported by local officials and other leaders. Together we can make preventing student alcohol abuse a high priority in New York State. We encourage you to bring with you a few of your senior administrators and campus-community partners who are important to this policy discussion. If you have a prior commitment, we would welcome a senior-level official or officials attending in your stead. The time of participants will be well invested. Distinguished speakers and moderators, as evidenced by the program, will place a sustained spotlight on leadership, policy, best practices, and research, along with student and community views. Discussion during these sessions will enable us to benefit from each others' insights and experiences. The summit is offered on a first come, first served basis. We look forward to your participation and your support in moving us toward healthy campus-community environments for our students. Featured speakers
