Diversity Abroad Honors Scholarship Program (SUNY)

The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (ODEI) has announced the Diversity Abroad Honors Scholarship Program. This scholarship is intended to support candidates with exceptional academic merit. Any undergraduate UAlbany student is eligible for this scholarship, regardless of which study abroad program they are applying for.

The SUNY Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion defines diversity as follows: Diversity can be broadly defined to include all aspects of human difference, including but not limited to, age, disability, race, ethnicity, gender, gender expression and identity, language heritage, learning style, national origin, sexual orientation, religion, socio-economic status, status as a veteran and world-view. The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion focuses in particular on achieving equal access, meaningful academic and intellectual inclusion in curriculum, research and service, and holistic integration into the academic culture of higher education at all levels for New York State’s underrepresented populations and students who are economically disadvantaged.

The Foundation for Education Abroad defines diversity in study abroad as follows:

  • Minorities
  • First Generation College Students
  • Students studying within STEM disciplines
  • Students with disabilities

The application cycle for students applying for Summer 2017, Fall 2017, and Academic Year 2017-2018 programs is closed.
