Welcome!! We are pleased that you will be studying overseas on a SUNY program. These pages are designed for all students who are studying on a program administered by the University at Albany and for University at Albany students who are studying abroad on any other SUNY program. In them you will find information about what you need to do to prepare for study abroad, how to have a successful experience overseas, and what to do so that your return to your home campus goes smoothly. Please read the information carefully now, share it with your parents and all those who will be helping you with details while you are abroad, and refer to it while you are overseas. We at the Office of International Education will do our best to answer any questions that you may have.
In some cases, procedures are different for Albany students, for SUNY students in general, and for non-SUNY students.
All the information here applies to all students unless it is divided by category. Please read the descriptions below carefully to determine the specific category that applies to you.
Albany Students: Students enrolled in degree programs at the University at Albany who will be participating in a program administered by Albany or another SUNY campus.
Other SUNY Students: Students enrolled in degree programs at any of the other four-year SUNY campuses (university centers and four-year colleges) who are participating in Albany-administered programs.
Non-SUNY Students: Students enrolled in colleges and universities in degree programs outside the SUNY system, students who are not enrolled in any degree program at the moment, and students enrolled in a SUNY community college (two-year program) who are participating in an Albany-sponsored program.
