Internships & Careers
Studio Art offers students the unique opportunity to explore professions from gallery and museum work to personal artistry. Students have the opportunity to pursue internship opportunities in art museums and galleries, art conservation laboratories, photo labs, graphic design firms. Potential occupational fields include art therapy, commercial design, theatre design, film production and TV production and photojournalism, and medical and anthropological illustration, and animation, among others.
Studio Art Advisement
Course registration advisement is provided by all the studio art faculty. Students should contact the Art Department Office, 518-442-4020 for the name of their advisor.
Art History majors have the opportunity to gain valuable work experience by pursuing Internships in area museums, such as the Albany Institute of History and the New York State Museum, and in the conservation center of the New York State Bureau of Historic Sites. The Art History major prepares students for graduate programs in Art History leading to careers in teaching, museum work, art conservation, the art market and publishing in the arts.
