What is a GREAT Great Dane?
A GREAT Great Dane is a person or group who:
- is an advocate for UAlbany, exhibits school spirit and cares about the campus community;
- is actively involved throughout campus (in and out of the classroom, athletics, community service, student groups, major campus events, etc);
- is respected by peers and colleagues;
- is in good standing both academically and judicially with the University;
- is an overall good citizen and positive role model.
How are GREAT Great Danes chosen and what do they receive?
All nominations received will be reviewed by the UAlbany Spirit Committee. While every person or group may not meet all GREAT Great Dane attributes, the Spirit Committee will strive to choose individuals and groups that best represent UAlbany pride and spirit.
A new GREAT Great Dane will be chosen bi-monthly when classes are in session depending on the number of nominations received. Every GREAT Great Dane chosen will receive a UAlbany t-shirt indicating that they are a GREAT Great Dane!
