Lynne Radle

A GREAT Great Dane

Lynne Radle embodies the spirit of environmental sustainability at UAlbany. A senior from Niagara Falls, NY, Lynne is majoring in public policy with a minor in environmental studies.

Her commitment to bettering the University can be evidenced by the wide array of activities in which she has been involved. Lynne is most proud of her work as an Environmental Protection Leader with NYPIRG since her sophomore year. In this role, she organized the awesome "Living Earth Albany," a Climate Change Awareness Concert/Art Show featuring expert speakers on the issues last March. Lynne has advanced in her leadership of NYPIRG by becoming its President this year.

Additionally, Lynne has arranged cleanup drives around the city and worked to pass the Bigger Better Bottle Bill which would extend the 5 cent deposit to non-carbonated beverages. Lynne was instrumental in founding the UAlbany Students for Sustainability last semester and is continuing in its development as President.

This work would be enough to fill one’s resume but Lynne’s not done! She has served three terms in the Student Senate, is treasurer of the College Democrats, a member of the Environmental Sustainability Task Force and a member of the University’s radio station 90.9 WCDB.

When not participating in all of these activities or doing her studies, Lynne can be found shopping in her favorite second hand stores. Yes, she takes sustainability seriously! Lynne’s commitment to serving the University and helping it Go Green is why she is a GREAT Great Dane!
