Office of the Vice President
Welcome fellow students of the University at Albany. My name is Alex Pena and it is a pleasure to be serving as your Vice President for the 2009-2010 academic years. I am currently a senior and majoring in English and Political Science. I will be graduating in May 2010 and honestly am dreading the day. The University at Albany offers more than just an excellent college education and that is why I decided to join student government; also known as the Student Association (SA). Throughout my college career, I have served as President of Model United Nations, Board of Director for the Five Quad Volunteer Ambulance Service, a member of the SA Board of Finance and the Chairman of the Appropriations Committee in the SA Senate. Finally this year, the undergraduate population gave me the honor to represent our school as the Vice President. I promise to not disappoint.
As your Vice President, I plan on working on many initiatives that include improving campus safety and awareness, improving communication between student groups and students not involved in groups and finally opening up Student Association, Inc. to the entire campus and making each and every single student aware that there is a place to find answers and get involved. I also plan on running an efficient and helpful office this year that will be unprecedented from years before. It is time that we take Student Association up to the next tier and I am confident that this administration will accomplish just that. Should you have any questions or wish to get involved, please feel free to call 442-5640, stop by my office or email me apena2@uamail.albany.edu.
Thank you and remember that we, as student representatives and leaders, are here to represent you in whichever way we possibly can. Good luck.
Sincerely,
Alex Pena (Class of 2010)
Vice President, Student Association, Inc.
