Department of Marketing
Michael Riley is a senior at the University at Albany majoring in Information Science with a concentration in cyber security. He is also a proud Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) student, expected to graduate in the spring of 2016.
Michael was born and raised in Queens, NY in the small town of Far Rockaway. Growing up in this given environment aided him in learning life skills he wouldn't have acquired anywhere else. From a young age, he strived to become a positive role model for his peers in a town that didn't have many people to look up to. Upon graduating from high school, Michael's motivation to seek higher education came from the desire to create a better life for his family. Michael is a first generation college student within his family.
Since the beginning of Michael's college career, he has been an active force on campus. He reactivated the Delta Rho chapter of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc. at the University at Albany, and has since then served in multiple positions of the organization including president, vice president, and community service chair.
Michael is dedicated to seeking success within any organization he is a part of. His involvement with organizations on campus has led him to build a vast network within the Albany community through the planning and execution of many on-campus programs for his peers, and participating in various community service opportunities.
As the director of marketing, Michael plans to bring the highest level of success to the marketing department of the Student Association, Inc. for the 2015-2016 academic year. Through his passion for marketing and his creativity, Michael has high hopes of bringing an invigorating touch to the Student Association and the way students perceive it on campus. Please feel free to contact the marketing department with any questions, comments, or concerns!
