Department of Marketing
Matt Curran is a junior living on Colonial Quad this year. Matt is a Public Policy and Management major with a concentration in Public Administration and a minor in Informatics. Matt was appointed as the Interim Director of Marketing at the end of the Spring 2011 semester.
Matt has been an intern for Senator John J. Flanagan since 2008 and in that time, has worked closely with his staff at his local district office. Matt has been responsible for organizing and coordinating student press conferences, advisory board panels and maintaining the Senator's district website. Matt is also an active member in ABLE (Albany Business Leaders Emerging), the Pre- Law Association and PHS. His involvement with Student Association began his freshmen year working as an intern in the Office of Marketing. Matt assisted in hosting events such as Fall Speaker Series featuring Barbara Walters, the Spring Speaker Series featuring former President Bill Clinton, as well as FALLFEST and PARKFEST. Matt was also present at all SA Free Day events, where he helped to distribute promotional items and spoke about upcoming SA events. Matt also assisted in the SA Cares Initiative, which was created in the aftermath of the devastating Jan 12, 2010 earthquake in Haiti; SA Cares has raised funds, donated goods and provided for numerous projects locally and internationally, including most recently, the Community Clean-Ups throughout downtown Albany.
Matt is excited to be leading the Marketing Department in its new and upcoming projects and looks forward to a very successful semester.
