Department of Marketing

Matthew Alvarez is currently a junior at the University of Albany and is excited to be serving as the Director of Marketing for the 2012-2013 Academic Year. He currently is majoring in Economics with a minor in Business and Spanish. Before choosing to attend UAlbany, Matthew attended John Glenn High School in Elwood, NY.

Matthew has been interested in business and communications for sometime. During his senior year of high school he participated in the Leadership Education and Development Program at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign in the summer of 2009. As a freshman at UAlbany he became an active member in the World of Business Program very much involved in community service and etiquette workshops becoming recipient of the Most Accomplished Award. As sophomore he joined the Student Association as Graphic Designer/Intern, in the Marketing Department. He was in charge of designing posters and quarter flyers for the University Events.

Matthew has also been involved with other student groups on campus and community service events. He is one of the founders of the fraternity Zeta Beta Tau since the fall of 2011 and held the position of Secretary on E-board of the chapter. He also actively participates in intramural soccer since his first semester freshman year.

He is excited to begin his position as Director of Marketing and working on initiatives to improve the promotions and marketing of upcoming events at UAlbany.
