Chief of Staff
Ryan Witte, a junior at the University at Albany, is serving the role of Chief of Staff for the Student Association during the 2012-2013 academic year. Ryan presently plans on double majoring in Criminal Justice and Spanish, with minors both in Business and Sociology. Before attending the University, he graduated from Hicksville High School on Long Island, class of 2010. He has also volunteered part time at the Wantagh-Levittown Volunteer Ambulance Cadet Corps and as a Cadet Member he became the Chair of the Bylaw Committee.
Ryan has always had an avid interest in law, a passion which the University at Albany has allowed him to explore. As a freshman he joined the prelaw fraternity on campus and over the years he has been an extremely active member. He now serves as the President of the fraternity, a position he takes much pride in. He has also used his time here become a certified member of the Albany County Community Accountability Board.
Ryan has worked very closely with the Student Association and the University. As a sophomore he was a Student Senator for Colonial Quad and served on the Rules and Administration Committee. Ryan’s position on the Committee also placed him on the University Senate as well as the University Life Council, on which he was the only undergraduate representative.
As Chief of Staff he serves at the discretion of the President of the Student Association, Arthur Rushforth. This is a role Ryan is eager to fill, as he genuinely enjoys working with other people. During his service he hopes to be able to reflect the views and beliefs of the nearly 14,000 undergraduates he serves.
