Chief of Staff

Joseph Benedict Wholley III, known to those around him as Jay, will be serving the Student Association for the 2011-2012 academic year as Chief of Staff. Prior to coming to the University, Wholley spent his high school years in Basking Ridge New Jersey, after moving from a small suburb outside of Boston Massachusetts where he grew up. Wholley served the Department Of Residential Life last year as an RA on State Quad and the in the Summer of 2010 was an Orientation Assistant. His interest in law made it a quick decision to join the Pre-Law Fraternity on campus his freshman year, in which he now serves as Marshall.

Wholley is going into his junior year at UAlbany, and he is a double major in Political Science and Philosophy. Last year Wholley began his work for Student Association as Chief of Staff for President Justin Wax Jacobs, and after last spring's elections, it was decided that Wholley should stay on as Chief of Staff for President Uddin. Over the past year as Chief of Staff, Wholley has Chaired a committee that began the rewriting of the constitution, which is now in the process of full revision. Wholley's passion project however is the AFSP Suicide Prevention Walk, which he co-founded last year and intends on bringing back this year. On the day to day basis, he assists the President and Vice President in running the office, represents the President in meetings when necessary, and acts as an editor for official Student Association releases.
