Cultural Fest

The annual Multicultural Carnival hosted by the Office of Multicultural Affairs of the Student Association, will be taking place this year on Saturday, November 21, 2009. This year, the Director of Multicultural Affairs, Olaniyi Akerele, in conjunction with the Pan-Caribbean Association, hopes to expand the carnival from what it has been in the past. Building upon prior success, this carnival, titled "Ethnic Explosion," highlights the cultural diversity of our community through music, food, games, and dance. This will allow students and faculty to gain a deeper insight into different cultures. In order to embody and present our traditions there will be two cultural entertainers present. These artists will represent different ethnic backgrounds here at the university. Various student groups will also contribute information, history, and performances based on their groups culture.

For the finale of Cultural Fest, the Student Association Office of Multicultural Affairs and the Pan Caribbean Association will host Ethnic Explosion in the Campus Center Ballroom. The event will start at 2 pm and will include dinner, performances and other activities (such as cultural dancing lessons, dominos, and laser tag) .
