Welcome to the University at Albany. You have made an excellent choice of a university, one which offers every opportunity for an outstanding education that will put the world within reach! This handbook is designed to assist you in achieving the most positive UAlbany experience possible. In it, you will find links to the services the University offers, campus resources that can assist you when questions or problems arise, information about campus living, and expectations of you as a citizen of our University community.

At UAlbany, you will work with faculty whose research and scholarship are having an international impact; you will contribute to an ethnically and socially diverse culture that enriches our entire community; and you will expand your own worldview through the University’s vast array of majors and many opportunities for study abroad.

In addition, our location in the heart of New York's Capital Region holds many opportunities for hands-on study and internships, as well as a wealth of recreational, cultural and entertainment activities. And our many campus programs and events, with traditions such as Fountain Day, the Big Purple Growl, Homecoming, Relay For Life, and Clash of the Quads, will help you make new friends, embrace the UAlbany spirit, and make connections that will last a lifetime.

Your presence here contributes in a meaningful way to making our University a great place to study and live. Please use this handbook as a guide to assist with your transition to UAlbany.
