Campus Dining

Campus Dining is provided by Chartwells. The University offers four different meal plans, with each one providing a specific number of meals and “munch money”. Munch money is a declining balance account that students use to purchase snacks, beverages, or additional meals from various locations on campus.

Your meal plan is assigned to your SUNYCard, which enables you to swipe your card to eat at one of our many dining locations. Students can use their meal swipes or pay cash to eat at any one of the five dining halls, which are located on each Quad. For the convenience of those on the run, in between classes, and late night eaters, the Campus Center offers a variety of dining venues open day and night throughout the semester. Students who reside at Alumni, Indian, Dutch, Colonial, or State Quad are required to have a meal plan; cooking of meals is not permitted in residence hall rooms. Freshmen are typically assigned a meal plan providing 15 meals per week and $200 (per semester) in Munch Money. There are also meal plans designed to accommodate the needs of commuter students or those living in University Apartments It is a good idea to consider carefully what your eating habits are before you choose a plan. Students may change their meal plan, but only through the 5th day after the start of the semester. You can you change your meal plan by:

• Logging into your MyUAlbany account and selecting “Change My Meal Plan”.
• Visiting the SUNYCard Office located in the Campus Center, room B52

Podium Account

“Podium Account” is a name we give to a declining balance account that is available on your SUNYCard. Once funds are deposited to the SUNYCard Podium Account, you can then use your SUNYCard for purchases at many locations, including: the University’s vending machines, Bookstore, University Libraries, Convenience Store in the Campus Center, cafés, and dining locations, as well as at various off-campus businesses.

Funds can be deposited to a Podium Account by:

• Using a credit card to add funds by going to the UAS website and selecting the “Add Podium Dollars” quick link
• Visiting the SUNYCard office located in the Campus Center, room B52
