SSW Doctoral Student Receives Two Fellowship Awards

Jacqueline Richardson-Melecio, BA ’89, MSW ’97Doctoral student Jacqueline Richardson-Melecio, BA ’89, MSW ’97, has been awarded the 2013 Eileen Blackey Doctoral Fellowship Award by the NASW Foundation for her dissertation research topic entitled: "The Integration of Cultural Competency in the Delivery of Mental Health Services to Latinos, A Social Work Perspective." Richardson-Melecio this year also received the University at Albany Dissertation Research Fellowship Award.

Doctoral and MSW Students Receive Initiatives for Women Awards

Doctoral student Sarah Maynard received the Initiatives for Women Karen R. Hitchcock New Frontiers Fund award. The award will be used for her dissertation research, “An Evaluation of Macro Social Work Student Competence,” a study to better understand student competence and create an effective evaluation tool.

MSW student Christina Wright received an Initiatives for Women general award which she will use for transportation costs needed to attend classes for completing her degree.
