UAlbany Schools of Social Welfare and Public Health, Together with Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy, Launch University’s Nonprofit Community Engagement Initiative

Mergers, Collaborations and Partnerships semiinarThree UAlbany schools and colleges are partnering to host a series of issue-oriented seminars focused on the needs of the nonprofit sector in the community.

The University’s Nonprofit Community Engagement Initiative: Emerging Issues in the Nonprofit Sector Series, involving the Schools of Social Welfare and Public Health and the Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy, held the series’ initial program in April on the topic “Mergers, Collaborations and Partnerships.” The keynote speaker was Anne Bryce, CEO of Achieve Australia, Ltd.

The second program held in May, focused on “Governance in the Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector: Overcoming the Issues that Challenge Nonprofit Boards.” Keynote speaker for this program was Jason Lilien, chief of the New York State Attorney General's Charities Bureau.

The fall series will focus on “Implementation of the Affordable Care Act.”
