The School of Social Welfare honors Scholarship Awardees and Donors at this year’s 8th Annual Scholarship Luncheon

On December 4, 2014 the School of Social Welfare at the University at Albany honored scholarship awardees and the generous donors that made scholarships possible at our annual awards luncheon and celebration.  Scholarship awardees Yvette Boafo, and Maria Mastroianni, both second year MSW students, expressed gratitude to the donors and school for providing them with scholarships.  They also expressed the desire to “pay forward” the assistance they have received once they are in a positon to do so.

This year’s luncheon also celebrated our very own Stephanie Wacholder who is scheduled to retire from the School of Social Welfare at the end of December 2014.   She has been honored with an endowed scholarship to celebrate her historic work as well as the many contributions made to the School and the University over the past 14 years.  Stephanie’s scholarship will be awarded to a School of Social Welfare student enrolled in our MSW Program, who demonstrates financial need and a commitment to building collaborative partnerships and advocating for policy innovations in both the public and private sectors to promote well-being.  Click here for more information on Stephanie's inspiring career.

The luncheon is one of many celebrations marking the school’s 50 years of Building Knowledge and Changing lives as we approach the School of Social Welfare’s 50th anniversary in 2015.
