Goals and Objectives

The goal of the program is to provide training and experience to one qualified dentist a year in dental public health administration and research.

Objectives

  • Provide residents with the opportunity to plan, develop and complete a program which satisfies the criteria established by the American Board of Dental Public Health.

  • Expose residents to experiences that allow the application of the theory and principles of public health practice to actual situations which develop in a community.

  • Ensure that residents acquire experience with a variety of programs and methods utilized in dental public health.

  • Upon completion of the program, residents should be able to demonstrate competency in the skills and knowledge that are essential for a dentist who practices public health as his/her specialty.
