The New York State Health Department and the University at Albany School of Public Health offer opportunities for physicians and dentists to gain education and experience in the field of public health.
The New York State Preventive Medicine Residency Program (NYSPMR) is
jointly sponsored by the New York State Department of Health and the
University at Albany (SUNY) School of Public Health. The program prepares
physicians for leadership careers in public health, providing a broad
background in the academic and practical skills necessary to work
effectively in the field.
The Bureau of Dental Health provides a unique experience for dentists
interested in pursuing a career in dental public health. Residents will
be enrolled and/or have access to graduate programs of the School of
Public Health and the vast resources of the Health Department, including
some of the nation's best data banks.
