- On Sunday, October 30, the 34th annual "Festival of Nations" will convene at the Convention Center of Albany's Empire State Plaza. The SPH GSO is also hosting a Halloween Bake sale on October 31, so please sign up to make a donation (see Dean's office for details). - The SPH GSO recently participated in Albany's annual AIDSWalk in Washington Park. View the group photo here.
- The University at Albany School of Public Health has received a Gold Award for Excellence in Programming in Satellite Higher Education from the United States Distance Learning Association. The award, for a Third Thursday Breakfast Broadcast (T2B2) entitled Genomics and Public Health: Where are we now and where are we going?, was announced during the Associations fall meeting in Long Beach, Calif. The award-winning broadcast was produced by the UAlbany School of Public Health Continuing Education Program and aired on July 21, 2005. It can be viewed on the UAlbany Web Site here.
- SPH Professor Timothy Hoff was recently awarded a federal contract to study follow-up practices in state Newborn Screening programs. View the press release here.
