Program Application
Instructions for Class 2009:
Please read the Eligibility
and Selection Criteria before proceeding with the application:

All applications
must be typed and submitted to NEPHLI with the attachments
and appropriate signatures, sent electronically or delivered
by May 7th, 2008
|
The tuition for the
year-long NEPHLI Experience is $3,000. This includes registration, conference
materials, room, board, transfer to and from the airport or
Amtrak. Personal transportation is not included.
Eligibilty
and Selection Criteria for Institute Scholars:
- The
Northeast Public Health Leadership Institute seeks participants
who represent the variety, complexity and diversity of issues,
community concerns and populations that are integral to achieving
public health goals.
- Managers and leaders from local
and state public health departments, private health care providers,
members of the academic community, as well as community leaders
and
governmental representatives with an interest in public health
are encouraged to apply.
- Candidates are recruited by NEPHLI
Alumni, departments of health, public health associations from
partner states (Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania,
Rhode Island and Vermont), or a related agency interested in the
advancement and promotion of public health.
- Candidates from non-partner states
are also welcome to apply.
- Participants need to demonstrate
leadership capability, a cooperative team spirit, as well as enthusiasm
and interest in addressing public health issues in innovative
and collaborative ways.
- Applicants must be able to attend
the residential sessions in July, October and the Spring Retreat, complete
a Scholar Project with other Scholars or people in their work
place and/or the community; and have access to e-mail.
- NEPHLI seeks to achieve geographic,
ethnic and gender diversity in the year-long program. People from
all backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Continuing Education Credits
The Northeast Regional Public Health Leadership Institute program,
through
the School of Public Health, University at Albany, has been approved
for
Continuing Education Credits by the Medical Society of New York
State and
the New York State Nurses Association Council on Continuing Education
and
the Commission for Health Education Credentialing. Please call
