The program leading to the M.S. degree requires a minimum of 48 credits. This includes 3 credits of field placement in the public health field and 18 credits within one of two tracks: Health Policy, Management and Behavior, or the Social Behavior and Community Health. For students with a bachelor's degree and no graduate education or experience in the field, it is expected that at least two years of full time study will be needed to complete the program.

The program leading to the MPH degree requires 45 to 51 credits. This includes 6-12 credits of internships, depending on the student's prior experience in public health or related fields, and 30 credits within either the Health Administration (HA) or Behavioral Sciences (BS) track. For students with a bachelor's degree and no graduate education or experience in the field, it is expected that at least two years of full time study will be needed to complete the program.

HPM 647 Program Evaluation (3); or
HPM 669 Economic Evaluation (3).

Two Electives (6 credits):
Choice must be approved by your advisor.

Internships (12 credits):
No fewer than six and no more than nine credits must be obtained within your concentration. Up to six credits may be waived.

Track 2:Behavioral Sciences

Required Courses (6 credits):
HPM 521 Introduction to Family and Community Health (3); and
HPM 627 Public Health Education: Targeting Social, Organizational and Behavior Factors to Promote Health (3).

Additional Quantitative or Analytical Course (3 credits):
STA 553 Principles of Statistical Inference II (3);
HPM 520 Fundamentals of Research Design; or
HPM 647 Program Evaluation.

Three Electives (9 credits):
Choice must be approved by your advisor.
