Health Policy, Management & Behavior
Welcome to the Department of Health Policy, Management, and Behavior (HPMB) of the University at Albany School of Public Health. The HPMB offers degree options in two tracks for those who wish to pursue planning and leadership roles in public health: the MPH and the DrPH in either Health Policy and Management or Social Behavior and Community Health. Through each of these options, students gain strong analytical skills, knowledge of the health care and public health system, and public health experiences to prepare them to analyze, develop, implement, and evaluate health policy and health-related programs.
The HPMB Department also participates in two dual degree programs offered by the School of Public Health: the MPH/MSW and the MD/MPH. In collaboration with the University at Albany School of Social Welfare, students interested in advanced degrees in both public health (health policy and management) and social work can complete both master’s degrees in three years. The MD/MPH program allows medical students to complete both their MD and MPH in five years. For additional information on the dual degree programs please visit www.albany.edu/sph/dualdegree.php.
