With a high concentration of people with conditions and diseases of public health concern, correctional facilities represent an opportunity to address public health issues. In this program viewers will learn about public health efforts within the prison system as well as the interface between state and local public health and correctional agencies.
As leaders in this field, Dr. Lester Wright and Dr. Gus Birkhead will discuss how collaborations between public health and correctional health services benefit the inmates and correctional staff, as well as the larger community.
