Eat Well, Play Hard: A Model for Preventing Childhood Overweight

Program Description:
This broadcast will highlight a statewide model for prevention of childhood overweight – Eat Well Play Hard. Eat Well Play Hard is a NYSDOH intervention to prevent childhood overweight and reduce risks for chronic disease through the promotion of targeted dietary practices and increased physical activity. Presenters will discuss the prevalence of childhood overweight in NYS, efforts to change the environment to make it easier for families to make healthy choices and accomplishments of Eat Well Play Hard local demonstration projects in Jefferson, Erie and Dutchess Counties.
Objectives:
As a result of this program, participants will be able
to describe:
- at least two benefits of the Eat Well Play Hard program
