NYS Breast and Prostate Cancer Peer Education Project

As part of Governor Cuomo’s 2016 Breast Cancer Initiatives, ten (10) Breast Cancer Peer Education contracts will provide peer-led, community-based education activities to target populations (e.g., low-income white, African American, Latinos, refugees and immigrants) aimed at increasing awareness of breast and prostate cancer screening.   Women will receive culturally-relevant breast cancer screening promotion messages and be encouraged to discuss their risk of breast cancer and screening options with their doctor.
