Lost Boys: From Childhood Sadness to Adolescent Violence

Program Description:
Understanding the origins of youth violence in early experiences of children is important. As Dr. James Garbarino explains, it can help us interpret the actions of violent youth and work to reduce their aggression. Dr. Garbarino is Professor of Human Development and Co-Director of the Family Life Development Center at Cornell University. He authored Raising Children in a Socially Toxic Environment and Lost Boys: Why Our Sons Turn Violent and How We Can Save Them.
Objectives:
As a result of this program, participants will be able
to:
- Describe risk factors for adolescent violence
- Describe at least one solution to decrease the rate of adolescent violence.
