Promoting Flu Immunizations for Health Care Workers

Program Description:
National data reports very low influenza immunization rates among health care workers. This project devised a simple, low cost plan to increase immunization rates among health care workers. In one year rates rose from 30% to 60% for health care workers in a large suburban primary care system run by Suffolk County Department of Health Services.

Objectives:
As a result of this program, participants will be able to:

• Describe at least two strategies to increase the rate of flu immunization among healthcare workers.
