MDS 3.0

The School of Public Health is now offering MDS 3.0: An Introduction.  This is the only MDS training in New York State that is approved by the NYS Department of Health.

The Minimum Data Set 3.0 was implemented October 1, 2010 and it is critical that long-term care facility staff become fluent in the new language and practices of the MDS.  MDS 3.0 is a federally mandated assessment instrument that must be completed at specified intervals for residents of long-term care facilities.  It is a core set of screening and assessment elements, including definitions and coding categories, which form the foundation of a comprehensive assessment.
