MDS 3.0

The School of Public Health is now offering MDS 3.0: An Introduction.  This is the only MDS training in New York State that is approved by the NYS Department of Health.

The Minimum Data Set 3.0 will be implemented October 1, 2010 and it will be critical that long-term care facility staff is fluent in the new language and practices of the MDS.  MDS 3.0 is a federally mandated assessment instrument that must be completed at specified intervals for resident’s of long-term care facilities.  It is a core set of screening and assessment elements, including definitions and coding categories, which form the foundation of a comprehensive assessment.
