Family Planning Benefit Program
The School of Public Health (SPH) is working with the Bureau of Women's Health, NYS Department of Health, to develop training
on issues related to the Family Planning Benefit Program
(FPBP).
The FPBP provides free Medicaid coverage of
family planning services to all persons of childbearing
age with incomes at or below 200% of the federal poverty
level. For example, a person of child bearing age whose
family consists of three members with an annual income
of $31,344 would qualify for this program.
Family planning services under this program can be
provided by all Medicaid enrolled family planning providers
including hospital-based and free-standing clinics,
federally qualified health centers or rural health
centers, obstetricians/ gynecologists, physicians, nurse
practitioners, licensed midwives, pharmacies and laboratories
that provide family planning related services.
