Child Health Promotion Specialist Training

The NYS Department of Health, in cooperation with the School of Public Health, will be presenting a 4-day session for Child Health Promotion Specialists.

At the conclusion of the 4-day training, participants will be able to:
  • Articulate the role of the Child Health Promotion Specialist within the county health department.
  • List at least three resources that have been developed to assist them as Child Health Promotion Specialists.
  • Explain the concept that each component of the environment in child serving organizations -- health, safety, social behavior, and intellectual skills -- is equally important, and no one component stands in isolation.
  • Gain knowledge and tools necessary to help child serving organizations provide children with the necessary support for healthy development.
  • Define consultation as applied to the field of child health.
