Basic Environmental Health Program Foundations of Public Health Practice
Indoor Air (EH 104A)
This half-day in person class includes the following topics:
- Sources of indoor air contaminants and how they are measured
- Building ventilation, components of ventilation systems, and evaluation of related indoor air quality problems
- The relationship between moisture and mold growth in indoor environments
- The basics of vapor intrusion (e.g. components of the exposure pathway, chemicals of concern, investigation strategies and mitigative measures)
First priority for this course is given to local and state health department personnel who are required to take the BEHP. Second priority is given to individuals registered for the Foundations of Public Health Practice certificate program. Other public health staff may register on a space-available basis.
