Admission Requirements

To be considered for admission into either of the programs, applicants must submit the following:

-Proof of a baccalaureate degree (official transcript) from academic institution(s) where degree was earned (an official English translation should be provided if the original is not in English).

-A letter of intent describing the applicant's background and his/her reasons for pursuing the Certificate.

-Evidence of proficiency in English for international applicants.

-A completed application and payment of fee.

-A current CV

 

How to Apply

All graduate applications at the University are processed through the Graduate Studies Admissions Office. You can select the "Apply Online" or the "Download Application" option. Be sure to submit a DEGREE APPLICATION.

To apply online, select the Degree Application Link and fill in all applicable fields. To apply for the Public Health Fundamentals and Practice certificate, select Public Health - Certificate of Graduate Studies from the Field of Study and Degree Level Field drop down box. To apply for the Public Health Preparedness and Surveillance Certificate, select Public Health - Public Health Surveillance and Prep from the drop down box.

If you download the Degree Application, enter "Public Health" in the Field of Study or Program for both programs. If you would like to apply to the Certificate in Public Health Fundamentals and Practice, please enter "Certificate of Graduate Studies" for the degree level. If you would like to apply to the Certificate in Public Health Surveillance and Preparedness, please enter "Public Health Surveillance and Prep".

IMPORTANT: GRE Scores and Letters of Recommendation are NOT required for admission to the Certificate in Public Health Fundamentals and Principles program. However, they are required for admission to the Master of Public Health and Master of Science programs at the School of Public Health.
