Research & Training Centers
The University at Albany School of Public Health faculty conducts a wide variety of research programs ranging from cell biology to community-based participatory research. Research is conducted within the four academic departments and the various centers associated with the school including the Cancer Research Center, the Prevention Research Center, the Public Health Preparedness Center, the Cardiac Quality Improvement Initiative, and the Center for Health Workforce Studies. Faculty make every effort to include both Masters and Doctoral students in research projects and to ensure that research and other forms of faculty scholarship enhance the learning experience of the students in course work, laboratory rotations and internships. In 2009, the School of Public Health added $12 million in new research funding.
