| Joel M. Bartfield, M.D. |
Dr. Joel Bartfield, M.D., a co-investigator on the project,
is a Professor of Emergency Medicine, Residency Director of Emergency Medicine,
and Assistant Dean of Graduate Medical Education. He has over 15 years of
experience in medical education and has achieved honors as Resident of the
year at Medical Center Hospital of Vermont, and Attending of the Year in
Emergency Medicine at Albany Medical Center twice. Dr. Bartfield serves
on the following professional organizations: Fellow, American College of
Emergency Physicians, Board of Directors, New York State Chapter, American
College of Emergency Physicians, Education Committee, New York State Chapter,
American College of Emergency Physicians, Council of Residency Directors,
Society for Academic Emergency Medicine, and Graduate Education Committee,
Society for Academic Emergency Medicine. |
| Henry Pohl, M.D. |
Dr. Henry Pohl, M.D., a co-investigator on the project, is
Associate Professor and Vice Dean for Academic Administration at Albany
Medical College. He has over 20 years experience in academic medicine and
educating medical residents and students. He has also published on the issue
of medication prescribing errors in teaching hospitals (see biographical
sketch). Currently, he serves as the National Chair of the Group on Educational
Affairs within the Association of American Medical Colleges and the Co-Chair
of the Academic Quality Council in Albany Medical College, two bodies pertinent
to both the aims and outcomes of the proposed study. At AMC, he teaches
courses in Clinical Skills, Physical Diagnosis, and Focal Problems. |
| Albert Wu, M.D., M.P.H |
Dr. Wu is a published expert on the issue of residency training
and experience around medical errors, and his work on this issue has appeared
in journals such as the Journal of the American Medical Association
and British Medical Journal. Click

| Lawrence Smith, M.D. |
Dr. Smith is an internist who is currently Dean of Medical
Education at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine and Vice Chairman of the
Dept. of Medicine. He has published extensively on physician training and
workforce issues in journals such as Academic Medicine and Annals
of Internal Medicine. This work includes assessing how residency program
quality gets evaluated and how evidenced-based medicine is integrated into
