Community Advisory Council

The Community Advisory Council (CAC) is a group of representatives from various nonprofit organizations that have public health related missions and activities. The CAC meets multiple times during the academic year to:

  • Advise on best practices for the school’s public health practice efforts
  • Provide guidance to the Associate Dean for Public Health Practice in her work on the division’s initiatives
  • Share ideas and networks to advance community engagement initiatives

The council works to improve the lives of the community members it serves, focusing on areas of health and wellness such as maternal and child heath, healthcare access, wellness promotion, nutrition, program development, environmental health, climate, and many others. Members of the council are professionals and experts in research and practice, who are caring and compassionate to create improvements for the greater good of the Capital Region's well-being.
