MD/MPH Application

The MD/MPH dual degree is targeted at medical students who are interested in acquiring knowledge and skills in public health. The marriage of medicine and public health skills will enable physicians to be better practitioners and leaders in the fields of medicine and public health. The program will build upon the existing relationship between Albany Medical College and the UAlbany School of Public Health to prepare physicians to be aware and capable of addressing public health problems and to create public health professionals adept at clinical knowledge and practice.

Application Requirements

  • Must be a first year medical student at Albany Medical College
  • Meet all MPH admissions criteria and follow standard MPH application process, including submission of application through SOPHAS
  • Meet standard MPH application deadlines

How to Apply

To be considered for admission into the MD/MPH, applicants must be admitted first to medical school at Albany Medical College. Albany Medical College is in the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS).

Applicants must then apply separately to the School of Public Health for admission into the MPH program. When applying to the School of Public Health, applicants should follow all application instructions for the MPH program as outlined in the MPH Admissions page, and select the MD/MPH designation in SOPHAS Express.
