SPH Alumna recognized as a Nurse of the Year in Pediatrics

University at Albany School of Public Health alumna, Mary Lou Oliver, RN, BSN, M.S., recently received recognition as Nurse of the Year in Pediatrics from the March of Dimes Georgia.

In her current role as program coordinator for the Scoliosis Screening Program at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, the pediatric physician teaching site for Emory University of Medicine and Morehouse School of Medicine, Mary Lou’s efforts have led to expansion of the Scoliosis Screening Program. The work of the Scoliosis Screening Program involves educating patients, families, and healthcare professionals about scoliosis and scoliosis screening throughout Georgia through conference presentations, written information, and training videos developed by Mary Lou . The program also provides scoliosis screening clinics in the Atlanta region.

Mary Lou received her M.S. in Health Policy, Management and Behavior.
