Steve Napolitano

Steve graduated in 1985 magna cum laude with a B.A. in Sociology. "Since leaving UAlbany, I have pursued a career in the law. I am currently Counsel in the Complex Mass Torts litigation group at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in the firm's New York City office. One of my proudest accomplishments post-Albany was a judicial clerkship with the Hon. David H. Souter while he was on the New Hampshire Supreme Court."

"It has been remarkable how well my sociology education at UAlbany prepared me for a career in the law. To be a good lawyer, you have to understand the big picture. And that big picture is ultimately our society and the larger world in which we live. So many of the subjects I studied in sociology have been vitally important to my work as a lawyer. Beginning with my Introduction to Sociology class with Professor Richter, I knew I had made the right choice in UAlbany and the right choice in pursuing an undergraduate degree in sociology."
