SOCIOLOGY MAJOR
B.A. Degree: A minimum of 36 credits in Sociology including the required courses listed below and 21 additional credits of sociology as advised. Of the required 36 credits in sociology, a minimum of 12 credits must be at the 300 level or above. Note: the 400 level seminar counts toward the 12 credit minimum.

*Students receiving credit for a similar statistics course in another department may request a waiver for Soc 221. If granted, the student must substitute a 3 credit Soc course for 221.

COMBINED BA/MA PROGRAM IN SOCIOLOGY

138 credits minimum, of which at least 30 credits must be graduate credits.

Eligibility

Students who are declared majors in Sociology with at least 12 crs in coursework in Sociology. Students must have an overall average not lower than 3.25 and 3.50 in the major to enter the program. Student must maintain the same average overall and the same average in the major as was required for admission in order to graduate with honors in sociology.

Application: students may apply during the sophomore year or in the first semester of the junior year.
