South's Research Projects
Racial and Ethnic Patterns of
Residential Mobility
-
This project uses data from the Panel Study
of Income Dynamics to examine trends between
1968 and 1997 in the patterns and determinants
of residential mobility between poor and
nonpoor neighborhoods, between central cities
and suburbs, and between predominantly black,
racially-mixed, and predominantly white
neighborhoods, and to explore patterns and
determinants of inter-neighborhood residential
mobility among U.S. Latinos.
Residential Mobility and Adolescent
Risk Behavior
- This project uses the National Longitudinal
Study of Adolescent Health to examine the
impact of residential mobility and school
transitions on American youth's sexual activity,
educational attainment and academic achievement,
delinquency and criminal involvement, suicidality,
and other key adolescent risk behaviors.
