Glenn Deane's Research Projects
Model Selection Methods in Sociology
- This research provides the much needed
comparative data on the empirical performance
of model-selection strategies widely used
in research practice, and serves as the basis
for recommending or avoiding particular strategies
depending on specific research contingencies.
Model Selection in Behavioral
Research
- The major goals of this project are (1)
to evaluate the empirical performance of model
selection techniques under a wide range of
conditions typically encountered in quantitative
behavioral research, and (2) to provide evidence-based
advice to practitioners on which (if any)
of these procedures offer the most useful
guidance.
Nest Egg or Goose Egg? Race,
Class, & Housing in America
- The major goals of this project are to
investigate the effect of neighborhood racial
composition on neighborhood homeownership
rates, housing value, and housing value appreciation
from 1980-2000 in the 26 metro areas which
have the largest proportionate black, Hispanic
or Asian populations.
