Graduate Admission
To be admitted to a graduate program offered by the School
of Criminal Justice, applicants must hold a bachelor's degree from a college
or university of recognized standing. Students may apply directly to either
the master's or doctoral program. In other words, students committed to
doctoral study need not be admitted to the MA program first. High-achieving
students from all undergraduate majors are encouraged to apply. Admission
to academic programs is based on an assessment, by a faculty committee,
of the applicant's academic achievements and promise as indicated by transcripts,
scores on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or other accepted standardized
admission test, the TOEFL for international students for whom English
is not their primary language, and other materials.
Application process
Applications to the School of Criminal Justice
Master's program are due July 1 for the fall
semester and December 1 for the spring semester.
The doctoral program only accepts new students
for the fall semester. The deadline to apply
to the doctoral program is December 31. Students
are encouraged to apply early.
