SCJ Acquires Books from Hall's Personal Library
| |
|
At the gracious initiative of Mrs. Phyllis
Hall, wife of the late Kermit L. Hall, former
President of the University at Albany, a
sizeable portion of Kermit Hall’s collection
of books pertaining to constitutional history
and law will find a home on the Downtown
Campus. |
| |
President
Hall, a nationally recognized scholar in
constitutional history and law, compiled
a library rich with books pertaining to
those subjects. Understanding the relevance
of these volumes to the research and teaching
interests of faculty and students at the
School of Criminal Justice, Mrs. Hall offered
the School an opportunity to obtain the
texts.
After the University Library catalogued
President Hall’s personal library and retained
a share of the books for general circulation
and a special collection, Professor Acker
reviewed the books and selected many for
transmittal to the Downtown Campus. |
| |
| Twenty-two
boxes of books were moved to the bookshelves
in Draper Hall 115. The books will be identified
as part of President Hall’s collection and
are available for perusal and use by members
of the University community. |
