Training for Security and Terrorism Professionals: The T-STeP Program
Are you interested in a career in homeland security?
Rockefeller College has received a grant from the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to support up to three students who are seeking an MPA with a concentration in Homeland Security. The T-STeP Program is a combined education, training, and research opportunity administered by the University at Albany's Rockefeller College in partnership with the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services (DHSES).
Students selected for this program will:
- Enroll in the Rockefeller College's MPA program in the Homeland Security Concentration in Fall 2012
- Participate in an internship with the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services
- Engage with Rockefeller College faculty in ongoing research projects on terrorism, counter-terrorism, immigration enforcement, or other aspect of homeland security
Students accepted to this program will be generously supported:
- Tuition, fees, and health insurance costs will be fully covered
- A $10,000 stipend in the first year and a $9,500 stipend in the second year
- $6,400 of travel support for participation in up to 3 academic or professional conferences
Students accepted to the program are required to work for at least two years in a homeland security-related public or private-sector job.
To be eligible for T-STeP you must:
- Be a US citizen
- Complete your undergraduate degree by June 2012
