Q & A with Lawrence J. Korb, PhD '69

If you had to condense your job description into an elevator pitch, how would it read?

Lawrence: We try and analyze national security challenges and come up with policies on how to deal with them.

What about your job inspires/excites you every day?

Lawrence: The feeling that you can make a difference in the future of the country.

How did Rockefeller College prepare you for your career?

Lawrence: Provided a very good sound basis on which to build future analysis, they taught you how to think analytically, how to use data to prove your conclusions and gave a certain amount of substantive knowledge about the issues.

What is one piece of advice you would share with a current Rockefeller student?

Lawrence: Be true to yourself. Make sure you don't compromise to get ahead. Do the right thing based on the data and the analysis.

When you're not on the job, where can you be found?

Lawrence: I'm a big football fan and I love spending time with my eight grandchildren.
