Nan Carroll, Director
The Center for Legislative Development has been working since 1970 to help strengthen legislatures worldwide. CLD views the legislature as the key, but often neglected, institution in the social, economic, and democratic political development of nations. |

Center for Policy Research
Thomas Stewart, Director
The Center for Policy Research was formally established in September 1987. Its overall mission is to advance the Rockefeller College goal of establishing and maintaining excellence in the field of public policy, emphasizing research on both methodological and substantive issues. |

Center for Women in Government and Civil Society

The Center for Women in Government & Civil Society is part of the Nelson A. Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy, University at Albany, State University of New York. Through research, teaching, training, leadership development, networking, and public education, the Center works to: Strengthen women’s public policy leadership; Broaden access of women and youth to policy knowledge, skills, and influence; Advance equity for women in the workplace; Enhance nonprofit management and leadership; Inform policy makers and policy activists on issues related to women, children and families. |

The Institute for Traffic Safety Management and Research seeks to improve highway safety by conducting research studies, evaluating programmatic and legislative initiatives, consulting on public policy issues, and providing a wide range of technical and analytical services that support state and national efforts to reduce motor vehicle crashes, fatalities, and injuries. |

The Professional Development Program provides extended learning opportunities by bringing the resources of the university to government agencies and affiliated organizations to develop their workforce through education, training, research and evaluation. |

Initiative for System Dyanamics in the Public Sector
Rod MacDonald, Director
The Initiative for System Dynamics in the Public Sector develops system dynamics computer simulation models of specific problems identified by government agencies and nonprofits. These models are used to test scenarios and develop understanding about the possible implications of different policies and programs prior to implementation. Studies for the Division of Disability Determinations, The Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee and Home Health Care Association of New York are among the Initiative’s recent projects as well as providing training for Office of the State Comptroller and Regional School Support Center. Current projects include an examination of scenarios regarding the implementation of technology on the criminal justice system for the National Institute of Justice. |

Intergovernmental Studies Program

The Intergovernmental Solutions Program conducts research to advance intergovernmental collaborations. IGSP shares the lessons derived from these government-to-government initiatives with people who work in the intergovernmental zone.

National Center for Security & Preparedness

The National Center for Security and Preparedness (NCSP) is located within the Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy (Rockefeller College) at the University at Albany (UAlbany). It was created by the State University of New York System (SUNY), utilizing specific State appropriation funding, and located at UAlbany and the Rockefeller College, who enjoy both administrative and operational authority and responsibility.
