Applications for the master's programs are accepted anytime. Master's students may begin study during the fall or spring semesters, or during the summer session.  

International Students
In addition to the requirements for the degree program to which you wish to apply international students must also submit (1) TOEFL scores (UALbany requires a score of 550 or better for admission) and (2) an affidavit of financial resources. Applicants for Masters should include:

  1. A completed degree application form
  2. Transcripts of all graduate and undergraduate work to date
  3. Three letters of recommendation
  4. A 1 to 2 page personal statement
  5. A resume
  6. A $75 application fee
  7. GRE scores (the GMAT is also acceptable)

Graduate Certificate Programs
Step 1 - Download the Graduate Degree Application (PDF File)
Step 2 - In the "Program Information" section under "Field of Study or Program", enter "Graduate Certificate in ______________________(fill in the specialization) or contact Kara Pangburn at 518-442-5396

Applicants for Certificate Programs should include:
  1. A completed degree application form
  2. Transcripts of all graduate and undergraduate work to date
  3. A 1 to 2 page personal statement
  4. A resume
  5. A $75 application fee

Nondegree Programs
We also offer a number of nondegree programs that are designed to fit your needs and your schedule. Students cannot be admitted to non-degree study in the Ph.D. program. If you wish to enter the College in one of the masters programs, please contact Kara Pangburn at (518) 442-5396.

Applicants for Nondegree Programs should include:
  1. A completed nondegree application form
  2. Transcripts of all graduate and undergraduate work to date
  3. A 1 to 2 page personal statement
  4. A resume
  5. A $20 application fee
Joint MPA/JD Program

Applicants for JD/MPA or JD/MPP should include:

  1. A completed degree application with program written in upper right
  2. Transcripts of all graduate and undergraduate work to date

  7. LSAT scores

A separate application must be made to Albany Law School.
