Judith R. Saidel

Specialization: Nonprofit Management and Policy, Government-Voluntary Sector Relationships, Contracting and Nonprofit Governance

 

Judith Saidel's research interests include interdependence issues between public agencies and nonprofit organizations, nonprofit organizations and policy engagement, and gender and political participation. Saidel heads the Center for Women in Government & Civil Society, a research, policy education, leadership development, technical assistance and training center founded in 1978 as part of the Graduate School of Public Affairs. She also serves as director of the graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management and Leadership and is the founder and chair, Nonprofit Executive Roundtable at UAlbany’s Rockefeller College of Public Affairs & Policy. Saidel directs the multi-year Appointed Policy Makers in State Government project. For several years, she was principal investigator of Governance Futures: New Perspectives on Nonprofit Governance, Discovery Phase, a project under the leadership of BoardSource, based in Washington, D.C., in collaboration with the Hauser Center for Nonprofit Organizations, Harvard University.
